Amy develops her athletes using a detailed, science based, no frills approach to training. In addition to Roots Racing, Amy is the head coach for the USMA West Point Triathlon Team. Previously, Amy launched the endurance program for Lifetime Athletic in Montvale, NJ, and has raced and coached for Origin Performance. She has coached elite development camps in the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, Arizona, Florida, and at the Olympic Training Center in CO Springs. She has represented Team USA at short course and long distance World Championships.

Steve has been the assistant youth coach for Roots racing since 2018. He likes to develop athletes with a focus on fun and safety. Steve started in competing in triathlon in 2006; after beating Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2012, he completed his first Olympic distance race, raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. After a relapse and subsequent stem cell transplant in 2014, he completed another olympic distance triathlon, again raising money for LLS. Teaching and coaching are two passions which enable Steve to "give back". He is also a father of 3.
Dr. Angie Fifer- Sports Psychologist
Angie is the Sport Psychology Consultant for Drexel University athletics. She provides performance enhancement services to 18 Division I men’s and women’s teams through individual, small group, and team consultation. Additionally, Angie is the sole member of Breakthrough Performance Consulting, LLC. The practice focus is helping performers to break through to a new level of excellence utilizing mental skills to prepare, compete, and recover at the top of their abilities. Previously, Angie spent seven years as a Performance Psychology Trainer at the United States Military Academy at West Point. She provided performance excellence training including confidence building, attention and focus training, effective goal setting, stress and energy management, and visualization to numerous Division I and club teams and individuals. Angie also provided monthly leadership training the all of the West Point athletic team captains. Angie earned a B.S. in Kinesiology and Psychology from Penn State
University, her masters in Sport and Exercise Psychology from California State University at Fullerton, and a Ph.D. in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Michigan State University. Angie has worked with a variety of coaches, teams, and individual athletes guiding their mental conditioning development as they strive for excellence in their performance domain at Michigan State and then as a post-doctoral intern at the University of Georgia. Personally Angie practices performance excellence herself as a marathoner, ultra-marathoner, and a three-time Ironman finisher.
